The article focuses on the International Agency for Research on Cancer's (IARC) perspective on alcohol reduction or cessation and its correlation with cancer risk. Topics discussed include the global prevalence of alcohol consumption, the classification of alcoholic beverages and ethanol as human carcinogens, and the estimated number of new cancer cases attributable to alcohol consumption.
