A reprint of the article "Violin Professor John Tiplady (1836-95) Exhorts Students How to Show the Same Commitment to Their Craft That He Did When He Was a Boy," which appeared in the December 1893 issue of the magazine is presented. The author discusses the importance for students to have patience and earnestness when studying violin. He explains the correct way of holding the bow and fiddle and advises the need to be well guided and instructed during lessons and practice.
