Abstract

The article reports on the labor union pressure facing coffee chain Starbucks on alleged worker retaliation and resistance to contract negotiations. Challenges facing Starbucks include board member nominations by a coalition called the Strategic Organizing Center and student campaigns at several universities to remove Starbucks stores from their campuses. It shows Starbucks' criticism of the union for advocating violence in the Middle East and its trademark infringement suit against the union.
