Abstract
- • The study aimed to investigate factors influencing risky driving behavior and potential solutions to the problem. • Road users engage in risky behavior due to problems, including qualitative, geometrical, traffic, and operational issues. • Perceived problems and accident history have a positive and direct impact on the risky behaviour of road users. • Providing fully automated RRGCs with minimum gate blockage duration emerged as the most influential mitigation strategy. • The findings would assist policymakers in developing evidence-based strategies to improve the safety and credibility of RRGC.
