PENTECOSTALISMO E PERIFERIA: O FAZER-RELIGIÃO NAS MARGENS DA CIDADE.

The article deals with the relationship between Pentecostalism and the urban periphery that constitute the ways of inhabiting the city. It aims to analyze the Pentecostal religious phenomenon in its relationship with the peripheral space of the city, providing a focus on the creative processes of religious actors who are the founders of collective faith experiences. We go through a critical perspective of the main sociological models that interpret the Pentecostal experience in the city, as well as a counterpoint to other concepts formally elaborated by the scientific tradition, such as "periphery" and "religion", to then propose a dialectical conception between Pentecostalism and urban periphery, emphasizing different modes of identity and sociability in the movement of religious creation in these spaces of the city.
