Abstract
- With the decrease of contemporary technologies and the widespread use of ultra-fast lasers, the study of small and nanoscale thermoelastic materials has become crucial among the scientific community. A new novel size-dependent generalized thermoelasticity model is introduced by incorporating the non-local Eringen model and the heat equationwith two-phase delays for analyzing the thermo-mechanical interactions in slender rod excited by laser heat input. The influence of the non-local parameter and the phase delays are investigated and addressed in depth through the numerical computation. Expected results from the size-dependent formulation are compared with those derived using classical continuum mechanics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
