Abstract

This article explores the effects of menopause on the skin and highlights the lack of awareness and information among women and healthcare professionals. Menopause, a natural process that occurs in women in their fifties, is associated with a decrease in estrogen levels, which can lead to changes in the skin such as dryness and increased wrinkles. A survey conducted in France revealed that a majority of menopausal women noticed changes in their skin, but less than 1% used skincare products specifically designed for menopause. The study suggests the need for increased awareness among healthcare professionals, better education for women about menopause, the development of specialized skincare products, and more research on the effects of menopause on the skin.
