Abstract

The article encourages getting past old hurts or engaging in parental blame that hinder growth and success. Several reasons to consider are cited to move past faulting parents, including the fact that dwelling on parents' mistakes would no undo the past, unrealistic expectation of perfect parents and parenting, importance of understanding the context of parents' mistakes, and influence of other factors like social relationships, personal choices and life circumstances in one's identity.
