Abstract

There is a fundamental disconnect in the way law firms develop and support rainmakers and leaders. The scarcity of firm resources (time, effort and money) amplifies a tension between the urgency to generate profits and the importance of setting strategy and cultivating talent; but this tension need not be a zero-sum game. The Either/Or mindset is limiting satisfaction and success. It is time to incorporate a Both/And approach. An essential piece of this shift is a framework called “Polarity.” [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
