Abstract

This article explores the concept of professional identity within organizations from a sociological perspective. It discusses the historical background and theoretical uncertainties surrounding this concept and aims to provide a theoretical foundation for field research on organizational professional identities. The article emphasizes the significance of the relationship between individuals and organizations in shaping self-perception and cognitive and emotional understanding. It also examines different perspectives on professional identity, including the cognitive mechanism of occupational identity and the sociological theories of Sainsaulieu and Claude Dubar.
