Abstract

[Display omitted] • The review of rare earth ions decorated COFs hybrid material is rare. • The preparation and application of rare earth ions decorated COFs hybrid material are introduced in detail. • The development of rare earth ions decorated COFs hybrid material is prospected. With the continuous development of the research on covalent organic frameworks (COFs), the composite of COFs and other materials have received more and more attention, and have shown outstanding properties in many fields. Recently, rare earth ions decorated COFs hybrid material have been gradually reported. Currently, lanthanide ions such as Eu3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, Ce3+, La3+, are utilized to construct rare earth-COFs hybrid materials (Ln3+-COFs), which show excellent performance in the fields of luminescence, catalysis, and so on. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the reported Ln3+-COFs, including their preparation strategies, applications, and mechanisms. Although the research on rare earth ions decorated COFs hybrid material is still in its infancy, it has shown excellent application prospects and will have a great impact on its field as the research progresses. This review has positively contributed to the understanding of post-synthetic modification of COFs and rare earth ions modified COFs materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
