Taqaful insurance has witnessed rapid growth that exceeded the two-digit threshold and with a difference among the countries that adopted this type of industry. One of the most important regions where the Taqaful insurance flourished are the Arab Gulf region and Southeast Asia. This is due to the positive economic and social effects and its conformity with the principles of Islamic law. Therefore, we wanted in this study to give a simplified picture of the Taqaful insurance industry through a theoretical rooting for this industry and hence shed light on some of the leading international experiences in this field in order to give a clear picture of what this industry has reached during the four decades since its emergence.
