Abstract: The article focuses on two clinical trials investigating the role of metformin during pregnancy for improving outcomes in women with gestational diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Topics discussed include the results of the EMERGE trial, which explored the early use of metformin in gestational diabetes, and the MOMPOD trial, which examined the effects of adding metformin to insulin in individuals with type 2 diabetes during pregnancy.
