Abstract
- A retrospective study examined 19 patients aged 55-92 years who developed haemorrhagic conversion of acute ischemic stroke while being treated with alteplase. Additionally, six of these patients showed lack of efficacy when treated with aminocaproic acid for haemorrhagic conversion of acute ischemic stroke. All patients received alteplase, with doses ranging from 6-9mg bolus and 49-81mg infusion, and experienced haemorrhagic conversion of acute ischemic stroke as a result. Some patients also received cryoprecipitate and aminocaproic acid, but six of them experienced thromboembolic complications despite the treatment. Unfortunately, seven patients died due to cardiac arrest, haemorrhagic conversion, or withdrawal of care. [Extracted from the article]
