Abstract

Textile Industries produces colored effluents that heavily pollute the environment. So, it is considered as one among the most environmentally unfriendly industrial processes. Therefore, industry effluents should not be released into environment before treatment. In this article, we carried out the experiments to detach the color of textile industry effluents using leaves of the Neem, organic coconut powder, peanut peel, orange peel, and inorganic fly ash, activated carbon as adsorbent. Results are examined with multiple parameters, such as agitation speed with adsorbent dose against the pH value of 7 and initial concentration of 45 mg /l to diminish the color of the effluent in the textile industry. Experiment results shows that the data correspond to the second-order pseudo kinetic model fitted well when compared to the pseudo-first-order kinetic model. In addition, it is proved that the selected coconut powder is used to remove color in a textile industry effluent effectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
