Rediscovery of Teuchobalis (Paratropesa) praeusta (Osten Sacken) (Diptera: Limoniidae), with Notes and Identification Key for the Subgenus.

The genus Teucholabis has 310 valid species grouped in four subgenera. In Mexico, Teucholabis (Paratropesa) is represented only by one species described with material from Xalapa and Orizaba, Veracruz State, Mexico. The male terminalia of Teucholabis (Paratropesa) praeusta (Osten Sacken 1886) (Diptera: Limoniidae) and additional body characters of a male collected from Teocelo, Veracruz are described. The species is poorly known and reported only from the State of Veracruz. An identification key for adults and revision of characteristics of the subgenus Paratropesa are included.
