Abstract
- The differences between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese have been the subject of debates, clashes and scientific research for at least two centuries. In this article, we propose to observe how the linguistic ideology of the norm materializes discursively in a contemporary journalistic text published in the Diário de Notícias, in Portugal, which portrays the presence of Brazilian Portuguese expressions in the speech of Portuguese children of school age, consequence of what parents and teachers consider an addiction, motivated by the consumption of audiovisual content produced by Brazilian youtubers.
