Abstract
- The article discusses the often overlooked issue of anti-Black policing and its impact on Black women and girls. Kimberlé Crenshaw, who coined the term "intersectionality," highlights how racism and misogyny intersect to marginalize and erase the experiences of Black women. Crenshaw launched the #SayHerName campaign in 2014 to honor and protest the state-backed killings of Black women. The article emphasizes the need for intersectionality in feminist and anti-racism movements and calls for the inclusion of stories of state violence against Black women to confront and dismantle systemic problems.
