Abstract
- The article presents a review of the book "Plato. Master Thinker of Antiquity" written by Thomas A. Szlezák. The author seeks to integrate the results of his research on Plato in three fundamental aspects: the hermeneutics of the dialogues, his metaphysical conception, and philosophical communication in Plato. The book is divided into three parts that address the life, work, and thought of Plato, and culminates with two appendices on the Seventh Letter and Platonic irony. The author offers an attractive and comprehensive image of Plato, correcting the interpretation of his philosophy as a theory of the two worlds. [Extracted from the article]
