Abstract
- The purpose of the research was to analyze how conflict management is in Basic Education schools located in the Province of El Oro, Ecuador. It was theoretically based on the authors Pérez (2020), Eguiguren (2021), Ahumada-Méndez (2019) and Carbonero (2018) among others. The research was framed within the descriptive positivist approach with a field, non-experimental and transectional design. The population was made up of managers and teachers, assumed as a population census. To collect the information, a scale-type questionnaire was designed as an instrument, with an ordinal level of measurement. The instrument was validated through experttested content validity using the Rank Proportion Coefficient method, yielding a CPR value of 0.89, indicating that it has good validity and agreement to be applied. Reliability is calculated through Cronbach's alpha coefficient, whose value was 0.743, indicating that the instrument has a high reliability. Descriptive statistics were used as a data processing and analysis technique, through the calculation of frequency distribution and arithmetic means. The results highlighted that there are discrepancies between the opinions of managers and teachers regarding the way in which the former handle conflicts, with managers stating that the strategies are present, while teachers believe that they are absent. It is recommended to identify the type of conflict and its differences in order to be able to identify and apply the most efficient model for its approach and management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
