Abstract
- The illustrative development pathways developed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for the Synthesis Report of its Sixth Assessment Report (AR6 (1)) consider mainly different levels of mitigation and adaptation. This article expands the range of development pathways. One assumption is the crossing of tipping points of the climate system with positive feedback. A second assumption is the deployment of solar radiation modification triggered by significantly increase of loss and damage. A prerequisite for such deployment is additional scientific knowledge to inform decisions at the policy level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
