Abstract

The construction of multi-emission center MOFs and its high-dimensional sensing detection of analytes have broad development prospects. This paper focuses on the preparation strategies of MOFs with three or more luminescent centers in recent years, and then discusses the recognition ability of high-dimensional sensing based on multi-luminescent MOFs to target analytes. [Display omitted] • The three-emission sensor has higher selectivity and accuracy. • The three-emission sensor can detect and identify multiple analytes at the same time, which is more suitable for the analysis of real samples. • The color change before and after detection by the three-emission sensor is easier to be recognized by the naked eye. In recent years, multi-dimensional sensing methods based on multi-emission MOFs have attracted great attention from researchers due to their excellent sensitivity and selectivity to the target analytes. Through the mixed ligand strategy or encapsulating the appropriate fluorophores (lanthanide ions, luminescent ligands, metal ligand complexes, organic dyes, carbon dots, etc.) in the MOFs channel, MOF-based proportional sensors with multiple luminescent centers can be successfully designed. In this paper, the research progress of multi-dimensional sensors based on MOFs in recent years is reviewed, with emphasis on the preparation of three-emission MOF composites and their applications in detecting ions, pH, volatile organic compounds and organic molecules. This paper will be of great significance for researchers interested in multi-dimensional sensing based on three-emission MOFs to understand its research progress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
