Abstract

In order to explore the relationship between land use change and the susceptibility to geological disasters, this study takes Huicheng District, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, which is developing rapidly, as the research area. Through the combination of object-oriented segmentation and deep neural network model, the land use types of remote sensing images in different periods of the region are classified. The classification results are integrated into the evaluation index system of geological disaster susceptibility as dynamic factors, and in combination with influencing factors such as topography, geological structure, and lithology to construct the susceptibility model to evaluate the susceptibility of regional geological disasters in the two periods. Finally, the influence of land use change on the susceptibility of geological disasters is analyzed. The results show that the building accounted for 55.76% of the areas where the susceptibility level of geological disasters increased significantly and the land use types changed, and 76.35% of the building in this part is from forest and cultivated land, mainly in the eastern part of the region and next to the newly built Guanglong Expressway. In addition, when the proportion of building in the region increased from 17.29% to 20.85%, the susceptibility level of geological disasters in the expanded range accounted for 27.92%, which was 9.27% higher than the proportion of the decline, indicating that human engineering activities played a stronger role in promoting the occurrence of geological disasters. The research results provide a strong scientific basis for urbanization development, disaster prevention and mitigation at the regional scale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
