Abstract

This article focuses on results of a survey conducted by the periodical on manufacturing productivity. The domestic view is still pretty positive, with 46% seeing their own workload growing, against only 13% predicting a decline. And readers still see positive growth in the sectors they work in, with 28% predicting gains against 14% seeing less work for all. But the view about industry as a whole has slipped back into negative mode after five quarters of positivism. Skill shortages are seen as problematic by only 9% now, against 12% in March.
