Abstract
- This article discusses the use of gold catalysts in the construction of polycycles through the dearomatization-allenene reaction. The study focuses on the activation of carbon-carbon double and triple bonds by gold catalysts, which allows for the efficient synthesis of complex molecules. The article explores the diastereoselectivity and chirality transfer in the reaction, as well as the reaction with different nucleophiles. Quantum chemical calculations were performed to understand the reaction mechanisms and selectivities. The text also provides detailed information on the synthesis procedures and characterization of the synthesized compounds. The authors, Nina Semleit and Gebhard Haberhauer, are researchers in the field of organic chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen. [Extracted from the article]
