Abstract
- The article discusses theoretical physicist Neil Turok's concept that the universe is simple on both the smallest and largest scales. The authors apply this idea to industrial management, proposing that while there are simple principles at both the individual and organizational levels, the "muddled middle" of management involves initiatives with unclear costs and benefits that can bog down organizations.
