Professor Louis Bernatchez, a renowned figure in genomics applied to the conservation and management of aquatic resources, has passed away at the age of 63. He was the Editor-in-Chief for Evolutionary Applications and made significant contributions to the journal. Professor Bernatchez's work focused on microevolution's role in macroevolution using sympatric Lake Whitefish species pairs, and he emphasized the integration of molecular genetics and ecology.
