Abstract
- The Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene is a new class of two-dimensional inorganic material, which can be used as anticorrosive filler for epoxy coating. In this work, the BTA molecules are intercalated into Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene through hydrogen bonding to obtain a high-performance active-passive dual protective function Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene@BTA composite corrosion inhibitor. The morphology, structure and composition of prepared Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene@BTA nanocomposite were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS). Moreover, the release behavior and inhibition behavior were investigated by UV–vis spectrophotometer and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), respectively. The results show that the continuously released of BTA can be achieved by introducing BTA into Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene interlayer, and the complete release time can reach 1000 min. In addition, EIS results show that the Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene@BTA composite coating exhibited the excellent anti-corrosion properties, and the impedance value remains above 1010 Ω·cm2 for 50 days in 3.5 NaCl solution, which is 4 orders of magnitude higher than that of pure epoxy coating. [Display omitted] • BTA was firstly intercalated into Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene by hydrogen bonding. • Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene@BTA combines physical barrier and active anti-corrosion. • Composite coating exhibits good anticorrosion and certain self-healing property.
