Abstract

The article discusses the development and implementation of driverless vehicles in China, particularly in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Yizhuang). Baidu's Apollo Go is a leading player in the driverless sector, offering robotaxi ride-hailing services with both safety operators and fully driverless options. Other Chinese startups and NEV companies are also investing in autonomous vehicle technology, with some focusing on Level 2 autopilot services. However, the industry still faces challenges in navigating complex urban environments and customizing navigation systems for different cities. Despite these challenges, driverless technology is being integrated into various sectors, including public transportation, delivery services, and vending machines. These developments are contributing to China's pursuit of a fully driverless future. [Extracted from the article]
