Abstract

In order to prepare high-performance asphalt pavement repair materials, nine kinds of cold patching asphalt with different proportions were developed. The contact angle of cold patching asphalt was measured and its cohesive energy, adhesion energy, peeling energy and energy ratio were calculated by surface free energy theory. The theoretical calculation results were verified by quantitative adhesion testing methods. The results show that the optimum ratio obtained by the rotational viscosity at 60 °C, the water boiling method, the photoelectric colorimetry and the binder bond strength test is consistent with that obtained by the surface free theory, and there is no significant difference between the results reflected by the three adhesion test methods. The best mix ratio of cold patching asphalt is asphalt): m (diesel): m (SBS): tackifier): m(anti-stripping agent) = 100: 30: 3: 5 : 0. 5. The adhesion can be evaluated quantitatively by combining photoelectric colorimetry with contact angle test or by combining binder bond strength test with contact angle test. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
