Abstract

The article titled "Electrospun Nanofibrous Composite Membranes for Long-Term Release of Celecoxib for Achilles Tendon Reconstruction Following Injury" discusses the development of a new implantable combination of nanofibers for Achilles tendon reconstruction. The nanofibers, called celecoxib-collagen-bupivacainepoly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (CCBP), show improved therapeutic application and higher load-to-failure values compared to healthy tendons and nanofibers with doxycycline. The authors suggest that CCBP is a promising scaffold for repairing ruptured Achilles tendons and is superior to existing materials. [Extracted from the article]
