Response to Lehrer and Rheinstein.

This article is a response to previous research on G-quadruplex ligands and their potential in gene expression modulation. The authors conducted an investigation using the G-quadruplex ligand BMVC-8C3O and found that it demonstrated potent synergistic effects when combined with osimertinib in suppressing the growth of EGFR-altered non-small cell lung cancer cells. They also discovered that BMVC-8C3O may have the potential to directly interact with the c-FOS protein, disrupting its role in transcriptional regulation and suppressing the expression of downstream genes. However, further experiments are needed to authenticate these findings and assess the impact of this interaction on downstream gene expressions.
