In view of the high zoonotic potential of Giardiasis, due to the cosmopolitan presence of its protozoan, the present work will report the case of a 3-month-old female Dachshund dog, which presented clinical signs, underwent anamnesis and coproparasitological examination, and was later diagnosed with Giardiasis. by the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Pelotas in June 2022, reinforcing the importance of diagnosis and the zoonotic risk of this enteroparasitosis.
