Abstract
- The LHCb Upgrade phase II conditions require a significant change of the detector systems including the electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL), which must be capable to sustain high radiation doses in the innermost region and provide good time resolution. The central part of the ECAL will be substituted by spaghetti calorimeter (SPACAL). This paper presents the results of the first cast lead–polystyrene SPACAL prototypes studies performed at the CERN SPS and DESY test beam areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
