Abstract
- Work represents the essential element in the social construction of the individual and can be a source of pleasure and suffering. Outsourcing is the transfer of activities from an organization to third parties. The study analyzed the experiences of pleasure and suffering of outsourced workers who work in cleaning services in a federal public institution in the light of the Psychodynamics of Work. A qualitative, descriptive approach was used, employing Bardin's content analysis (2011). Field research was carried out as a technical procedure and the application of an interview script adapted from the ITRA instrument - "Inventory on Work and Risks of Illness" by Mendes and Ferreira (2007) for data collection and analysis. It was evidenced that work is seen as pleasurable, with sufficient resources and a peaceful relationship, despite limitations such as lack of time to go to the doctor, division of tasks, and physical and cognitive problems. Outsourced workers carry out their activities as required by the organization and avoid conflicts using emotional control as a defense strategy. The presence of invisibility is identified as they avoid expressing their feelings and their need for alternatives that minimize the risks of illness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
