The purpose of the following paper is to expose how certain figures of Argentine thought thought thought the university in its transforming dimension. Thus, we will appeal to recover some voices of that thought -from Deodoro Roca, through Arturo Jauretche to Eduardo Rinesi-. But these thoughts were produced in a specific historical context -the years of the Reform of '18, the years of Peronism and Kirchnerism- in which populist governments that expanded political and social rights were emerging.
