Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to find a suitable design of disc brakes, alloy or metal material of proposed designed disc brakes used in the automobile industry which could be used in heavily loaded vehicles for heat dissipation, noise reduction, water repellent (hydrophobic) nature and should be lightweight. The information regarding the design of brakes, efficiency, wear and tear of the materials usedwill be shown in the paper with the help of the simulation using Ansys. We will run through a few simulations for aspects like temperature, heat and pressure to examine the materials for different designs and check whether they can withstand extreme limits like failure due to friction. This is done because if the disc fails under provided conditions it will lead to distortion, leading to thermal cracking and eventual failure. To eliminate these risks we will compare brakes of suitable design and materials to ensure we get the properties required as well as aesthetics of designs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
