Abstract

Periapical cysts or radicular cysts are inflammatory processes formed in the periapex of a tooth that presents pulp necrosis. They start from the proliferation of epithelial remnants of Malassez through the inflammatory process. This study aims to demonstrate a clinical case of inflammatory periapical cyst associated with a treatment of (GTR), in which the diagnostic hypothesis and the determination of the correct treatment plan will be confirmed through images from the Cone Beam Computed Tomography. After local anesthesia with 2% lidocaine, a horizontal intrasulcular incision and a vertical relaxant beyond the mucogingival junction were performed to fold the flap. Osteotomy for widening access to the cyst region, wound curettage, and decontamination of the root surface. Insertion of the biomaterial and covering with an absorbable collagen membrane. The use of the RTG technique associated with the assessment of CBCT, and the trans and postoperative care proved to be effective for a correct prognosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
