Abstract

Renewable energy provides great benefit as an alternative energy as it is a type of energy that will never run out. This classification of renewable energy includes wind energy. As Malaysia is a tropical country, most of the people have air-conditioning system in their houses. This leads to higher number of people owning a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system in their building. This paper is focused on the electrical power generation by HVAC system, conducted and tested in a MATLAB Simulink software. The wind turbine system consists of wind turbine, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PSMG), rectifier and lithium battery. The parameters proposed accordingly referring to previous research and datasheets. Results obtained has been observed and collected from the reduction of initial wind speed from 100%, 75% and 50%. Result shows the potential generation voltage based on the speed of the wind from the HVAC system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
