Abstract
- The branching fractions of τ → π + π − π − ν τ and τ → π − 2 π 0 ν τ are calculated within the chiral NJL model. Features of the axial-vector a 1 meson which play an important role in describing the τ decays are discussed. Permissible values for the mass and width of the a 1 meson are considered in accordance with the latest experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
