Protein is the most important nutrient for animals, the core of protein nutrition is amino acid nutrition, which absorption and metabolism play a key role in the growth and development of animals. Ruminant has a unique microbial fermentation system, which has many factors affecting protein and amino acid metabolism. It is characterized by low protein utilization and complex amino acid nutrition regulation in small intestine. In this paper, the factors affecting the utilization of protein in ruminants and the optimization of amino acid composition pattern in small intestine were systematically expounded from two aspects of protein metabolism and amino acid nutrition in the ruminants, in order to provide scientific basis for related research.
