Abstract

The article reports on the results of a study on the effects of shifting to remote work, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic, in the U.S. Based on data, 54% of Americans shifted to remote work in 2020 compared to 4% in 2019. Among the effects are the significant adverse effects to brick-and-mortar businesses, the benefits to businesses like grocery stores, and the increase in rents in affordable markets.
