Τραύμα πυέλου και αιμορραγία: Παρουσίαση ενδιαφέροντος περιστατικού

Major pelvic injuries are quite common in the setting of high-energy blunt trauma and in combination with other injuries and hemodynamic instability lead to high mortality rates, ranging from 40 to 60%. The main cause of death in the first 24 hours in these cases is acute bleeding. The purpose of this paper is the presentation of an interesting case, of a 21-year old trauma patient with pelvic and retroperitoneal bleeding, in order to highlight the pelvic packing in combination with arterial embolization and stabilization of the pelvis as a useful method of treating the hemodynamically unstable trauma patient with major pelvic injuries.
