Abstract

The article centers on the experiences of three working-class academics in post-92 universities, examining their challenges in precarious academic roles and their relationships with student engagement and belonging. It introduces the concept of "hallway learning" as a metaphor for the liminal spaces they occupy, encompassing issues related to non-traditional backgrounds, contract insecurity, and the complex navigation of academic and personal identities.
