Abstract

Human-induced vibration and noise significantly influence passenger ship comfort. Predicting and controlling human-induced vibration and noise are imperative. The excitation sources of the vibration and noise are human-induced loading (HIL). HIL models are introduced to describe the impact loading with time-variant stochastic fields by single-person or multi-person walking. A numerical analysis of human-induced noise is implemented in a cabin corridor of a passenger ship under single-person or multi-person walking. Finally, a real ship experiment test is implemented, validating the proposed method's feasibility and effectiveness. The results provide a better understanding of passenger ships' vibration and noise reduction design. • ►The human-induced loading model is obtained by introducing the equivalent model. • ►The human-induced noise analysis of passenger ships is implemented. • ►The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by experimental test.
