Abstract

Rh deficiency syndrome with anti Rh-29 in a multiparous lady causing transfusion reactions. However, when faced with massive, life-threatening haemorrhage in the absence of compatible blood, transfusion of closely but not completely cross-matched blood is permitted using robust protocols to prevent and manage potentially lethal transfusion reactions.
