Mike and Theda primarily resided in Las Vegas, NV, while raising their three children, Shannon, Caoimhín, and Erin. Mike O'Farrell and Bruce Miller beginning a night of recording bats on the Sarstoon River, January 1999 during the Scientific American Expedition, where they confirmed the vocal signature of the Ghost Bat (Diclidurus albus) in Belize.
