Abstract

The article evaluates how the Minor Threat band inverted mainstream and punk fashion cycles to create a meaningful impact in the U.S. Topics include the influences and motivations that drove the punk band's aesthetic and its lasting impact on punk, the reason for the relevance of punk, several variables that shaped Minor Threat's style such as the endemic aspects of Washington, D.C. life and mainstream fashion trends, and the release of their music album "Salad Days."
