Abstract: The article reports on the complete siege of the Gaza Strip ordered by Israel, while the Palestinian militant group Hamas threatened to respond to the Israeli bombing campaign by executing civilian hostages. It informs about Israel's mobilizaton of military reservists amid signs of preparing for an invasion of Gaza and the possible opening of a front against the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah. Also noted is the request of Israel to the U.S. to supply it with precision-guided munitions.
