Abstract

Examines the seroprevalence, and the genetic heterogeneity of circulating subtypes of HIV-1 in the general population of Djibouti. Collection of serum samples from Djiboutians representing the general population of urban and rural districts during a national survey in 2002; Rate of HIV-1 seroprevalence in the general population of Djibouti; Detection of a large majority of subtype C as well as other subtypes in the HIV-isolates following phylogenetic analysis.
